Blades defender nears comeback

Sheffield United defender Lecsinel Jean-Francois says he is closing in on a first-team return.

The 26-year-old has been working tirelessly behind the scenes after suffering a knee injury during his comeback appearance in October. He told the club's official website: "I feel really good. It is about 10 days since I started training and I have had no ill-effects. "Each day that goes by I feel fitter and stronger and I am confident that my knee is strong. I don't have any apprehension or worries when it comes to training. "I didn't rush back last time, it was just unfortunate that in my first game back I got an awkward challenge. Hopefully it won't be too long before I am back in the squad. I am feeling really confident in training so I will continue to work really hard. "I know at this time of year, with the weather like it is, that is often difficult to get games arranged but we will see what happens in the next week or two."
