Portugal international believes new club can have a great season

Simao Sabrosa has completed his move to Espanyol and revealed his desire to help the Spanish club in their project. The experienced Portugal international has become the fifth signing of the summer for the Primera Liga outfit after finding himself out of favour at Turkish club Besiktas. Simao has played for the likes of Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Sporting Lisbon and Benfica but is still excited by the prospect of life at Espanyol after holding talks with coach Mauricio Pochettino. "I am very happy to wear this shirt. They have an ambitious project here," said the 32-year-old playmaker. "Before signing I spoke with Pochettino and he told me what he expected from me and I told him what I can offer the team. "The two of us were very clear about everything and now's the time to start work. "Once I start training with my team-mates, I will know if I can play some minutes this Saturday against Real Zaragoza. "I've come here to help and all together we can have a great season."
