Slovakian midfielder ends disappointing time at Man City

Newly-promoted Serie A outfit Pescara have completed the signing of Vladimir Weiss from Manchester City for an undisclosed fee. Pescara confirmed their interest in signing the Slovakia international last month and have now pushed through a deal for the 22-year-old. Weiss has agreed an initial one-year contract, with the option of extra seasons, to end a disappointing career at the Etihad Stadium. The midfielder made just five appearances during his time with City and his only Premier League outing came as a substitute against Bolton Wanderers in 2009. He subsequently spent a spell on loan at Bolton in the second half of the 09/10 season before enjoying the following campaign with Rangers. Last season Weiss took in another loan spell, this time with Espanyol, and he recently claimed he was wanted by clubs in England, Spain, Italy and Germany. Weiss has eventually opted for a deal with Pescara and he will hope to play an important role in the club's quest to preserve their recently-acquired top-flight status.
