The 30-year-old has signed a new two-year deal with the option of a further year to keep him at The Valley until at least 2014.
"I'm really happy to sign a new contract at Charlton," he told the club's official website.
"I've loved my time at the club and have already enjoyed some special moments here. Hopefully, there will be many more to come.
"The fans have really made me welcome too and I will always cherish my first career title last season and the amazing scenes that followed.
