Defender Lee Brown has signed a contract extension at Bristol Rovers, penning a deal that will keep him with the Pirates until 2014.

The 21-year-old, a versatile left-footer, signed from QPR in June 2011 and made 35 appearances last season, scoring seven times. Manager Mark McGhee told the club's official website: "Lee has come back for pre-season training in top condition, he has the bit between his teeth and a real determination about him. "He wants to play left-back, and we will give him that opportunity in pre-season, but he has goals in him as well, which is important for us. "I believe he has a big contribution to make for Rovers next season."
