McLeod on trial with Pompey

Izale McLeod is on trial at Portsmouth after opting to leave Barnet, who he joined in 2010 as a free agent.

The 27-year-old striker was League Two's joint top-scorer last season with 18 goals for the lowly Bees, but he opted not to sign a new contract and is currently a free agent. Instead, McLeod has been training with Pompey despite the financial uncertainty at Fratton Park and has joined the south-coast club on their pre-season tour of Spain. McLeod will be joined by a host of other trialists including former Reading midfielder Brian Howard and ex-Leeds winger Lloyd Sam.
