Bayer Leverkusen have agreed to loan young forward Nicolai Jorgensen to FC Copenhagen on a season-long deal.

Young forward departs Leverkusen for loan stint in native Denmark

Bayer Leverkusen have agreed to loan young forward Nicolai Jorgensen to FC Copenhagen on a season-long deal. An option to buy has been included in the loan agreement should Denmark international Jorgensen impress at his native club. The 21-year-old has three years remaining on his deal at Leverkusen, where he has made 10 appearances since joining from Akademisk Boldklub in 2010. He spent six months on loan with recently relegated FC Kaiserslautern last season. Leverkusen chief executive Wolfgang Holzhauser believes Jorgensen's loan move could be crucial to his development. He told the club's official website: "Nicolai Jorgensen is a young player with a lot of talent. He will improve even further if he just manages to play regular first-team football. "We regard the loan deal handed to him as the perfect chance to be a better player in the future."
