Steve Bruce admits he has given himself a new goalkeeping headache after agreeing deals for two quality shot-stoppers in as many days.
The Hull City boss was sweating over the prospect of starting the season without a seasoned goalkeeper on the books.
But Bruce moved swiftly to sign free agent Eldin Jakupovic on a two-year deal after the Swiss previously impressed goalkeeping coach Gary Walsh during a trial period last season.
The former Manchester United skipper is also set to take Ben Amos on a season-long loan deal from his former club.
And now Bruce must decide which one of his highly-rated goalkeepers will wear the No.1 shirt at the KC Stadium.
"We knew we needed to act and in the last couple of days we've got two goalkeepers in who will do very well for us I'm sure," Bruce told the
Hull Daily Mail. "It was imperative that we brought a couple in and I'm very happy with that area now.
"There's a bit of competition there that can only stand us in good stead. I've not brought either goalkeeper in with the assumption he will be my No.1, gone are those days.
"I'll have a big decision to make over the next four or five weeks but the challenge for both is to grab that jersey.
"Eldin was on trial here and big Gary Walsh, who worked with him, said he'd done everything that was asked of him. There was some sort of deal in place from before so knowing what he was capable of on a Bosman transfer, it was something we've opted to push through.
"Ben is very highly rated but he knows he needs to go and play somewhere," added Bruce. "It's a difficult job when you're a goalkeeper because you can get to 22 or 23 and you've not played."
