Nice defender Francois Clerc has reached an agreement to sign a three-year deal with Ligue 1 rivals St Etienne.
St Etienne confirmed on Monday that the France international right-back will join the club subject to a medical.
Clerc has won 13 caps for Les Bleus and was a regular for Lyon in their title-winning sides from 2006 to 2008.
The 29-year-old has since played at Nice for two seasons, appearing in 71 games and scoring six goals.
Clerc becomes St Etienne's second recruit for the new season after midfielder Renaud Cohade, who joined from Valenciennes.
