Defender looking forward to making an impact next season
Hibernian defender Scott Smith has agreed a new one-year contract and is delighted to be staying at Easter Road.
The left-back graduated from the Academy set-up 12 months ago after captaining the club's Under 19 team.
In his rookie professional season, Smith made one Hibernian first-team appearance and spent time out on loan with Brechin City.
Smith said: "I'm delighted to have signed another contract and I'm looking forward to the new season. My mindset in pre-season will be the same as it is every year - I will be working as hard as I can and keeping my head down.
"Hopefully then I can catch the manager's eye and if I get presented with an opportunity I can take it with both hands. It's a challenge that I'm excited about.
"Last season was a step up from playing for the U19s and it was a good experience. I also learned a lot from going out on loan to Brechin and playing regular football."
Manager Pat Fenlon said: "Scott has been in and around the first team for a year now and he has got a fantastic attitude and wants to succeed. He fits in with the type of player we want at the club moving forward."
