Denmark midfielder looking to help French giants back to their feet

Denmark international Jakob Poulsen has signed for Monaco and is determined to help them secure promotion back into Ligue 1. The 28-year-old impressed his new boss Claudio Ranieri with his efforts during Euro 2012. After hearing that Monaco were interested in acquiring his services, the midfielder was only too happy to secure a switch to France. He finds himself on the move after two years at FC Midtjylland and is looking forward to the prospect of helping a sleeping giant back to its feet.

Ambition

"It's a big step in my career," Poulsen told Monaco's official website. "I am joining a big club, even though Monaco are in Ligue 2 at the moment. "A few years ago they were one of the best clubs in Europe and I know their ambition is to get back to that level. "It will take time, but it is a big challenge."
