AFC Wimbledon have pencilled injured defender Callum McNaughton in for a return to action in October.

The former West Ham centre-half will begin light jogging next month after a quick recovery from the anterior cruciate knee ligament injury he suffered at the end of March. Dons physio Mike Rayner told the club website: "He is making great progress and has done excellent in his recovery. Callum has come to terms with the injury and his spirits are high. "It looks like he will be back in the minimum six months from when he had the operation in April, rather than nine months, which is the length of time it can be for that type of injury." Striker Jason Prior is continuing his recovery from a double leg break and is expected back around Christmas. Meanwhile, manager Terry Brown has handed a trial to 23-year-old Australian goalkeeper Ben McNamara, who plays for New South Wales Premier League leaders Bonnyrigg White Eagles.
