Carlisle have boosted their attack for the new League One season with the signing of Danny Cadamarteri on a two-year deal.

The 32-year-old was a free agent after being released by Huddersfield, for whom he made 16 appearances last season without scoring. Cadamarteri, who started his career at Everton before spells with Bradford and Sheffield United among a host of other clubs, becomes Carlisle's second signing of the summer after defender Mike Edwards. Greg Abbott told United's official website: "This is another one we are pleased to have done. "Danny is a very experienced player who we have watched for a while and I know from talking to him that he has a real hunger to play the game and push on. He knows what we want to do at this club and he wants to be part of it. "He's a player who will give us a number of options going forward and in midfield and he's one who we think will have a positive impact in the dressing room as well."
