St Etienne have completed the signing of midfielder Renaud Cohade on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract with Valenciennes.
The 27-year-old midfielder has signed a three-year contract with ASSE, who hope he can fill the boots of the departed Laurent Batlles.
Cohade has played for the likes of Nimes, Bordeaux and Strasbourg, but St Etienne head coach Christophe Galtier is delighted to have tied the player down to a deal at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard following interest from Lyon and Marseille.
"St Etienne are a great club with many ambitions," Cohade told the club's official website.
"I had great desire to come here and to work with the leaders here, particularly the coach Christophe Galtier.
"Joining St Etienne is a nice progression in my career."
