PSV keeper set to retain spot in Poland side, according to reports

Poland coach Franciszek Smuda is set to keep Przemyslaw Tyton in goal ahead of usual first-choice Wojciech Szczesny against the Czech Republic, according to reports in the Polish media. Szczesny was sent off in the co-hosts' Euro 2012 opening draw against Greece last Friday and was consequently suspended for their 1-1 draw with Russia on Tuesday. Tyton saved a penalty with his first touch against the Greeks after replacing the Arsenal shot-stopper and went on to impress on Tuesday night. The PSV Eindhoven keeper cut a composed figure between the sticks in contrast to a shaky opening display by Szczesny.

Mistakes

Smuda told Polish television on Thursday he feared the kind of mistakes the 22-year-old Gunners man made against Greece. The coach added: "(Tyton) has always brought calm into the game." The Polish media has been full of speculation over whether Szczesny will regain his place and Rzeczpospolita newspaper claimed on Friday Smuda will keep faith with Tyton. The final matches in Group A on Saturday will decide who advances to the quarter-finals. Poland must post their first-ever win at a European Championship to stay in the tournament.
