Boro lose Winn to Silkmen

Stevenage striker Peter Winn and Bristol Rovers stopper Lance Cronin have both joined relegated club Macclesfield.

Winn, who can play on either wing or up front, has penned a two-year deal with the Silkmen. The 23-year-old left Scunthorpe for Stevenage in 2010 and played a part in their promotion-wining side in his first season at Broadhall Way, although he managed just one substitute appearance last term and spent time on loan at both Cambridge and Grimsby. Cronin, meanwhile, joins Macc having been told he is surplus to requirements at Bristol Rovers. The experienced stopper, 26, started his career with Brighton before moving on to Crystal Palace, Oldham and Shrewsbury but it was with non-league Ebbsfleet where he enjoyed the most success, making almost 200 appearances. Cronin returned to the Football League with Gillingham in 2010 before signing for Rovers 12 months ago, although a lack of first-team action saw him end last season back on loan at Ebbsfleet.
