Purches progress on leg break

Bournemouth defender Stephen Purches is making good progress in his recovery from a double leg break.

The 32-year-old broke his tibia and fibula during February's 1-0 defeat at Rochdale and was set a rehabilitation period of between six to nine months. But the early stages of that lengthy recovery have gone well and Purches is on the right track. "I went to see the specialist recently and he said I have to come off the crutches for the next four weeks and wear the air boot when I walk around," Purches told the club's official website. "I'll then come out of the air boot and back on the crutches again for two weeks and then hopefully at the start of pre-season I'll be able to walk freely."
