Posh begin search for replacement for keeper

Cardiff City have signed goalkeeper Joe Lewis on a free transfer from Championship rivals Peterborough. Lewis arrives on a free transfer at the Cardiff City Stadium after seeing out his contract at London Road. The 24-year-old will help fill the void left by Tom Heaton's departure from Cardiff earlier this month. Lewis will provide cover and competition for David Marshall for the No.1 shirt next season with the Scot having signed a new long-term deal this week.

Replacement

Meanwhile, Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson has moved to solve the club's goalkeeping crisis by bidding for an unnamed shot-stopper. With Lewis leaving London Road for Cardiff and last season's No.1 Paul Jones yet to accept a new deal, Ferguson needs to draft in a new keeper as a matter of urgency. "We have made a bid for a goalkeeper so we will wait and see what happens there," Ferguson told the Peterborough Evening Telegraph. "We have been negotiating with Paul for a good while and nothing has happened on that front so far but I'm not in the least bit worried about the situation."
