Scowen secures Chairboys stay

Josh Scowen has become the third player to agree a new contract at Wycombe Wanderers.

Scowen, 19, has accepted terms on a one-year deal to follow in the footsteps of fellow youngsters Anthony Stewart and Jesse Kewley-Graham. The combative midfielder made his senior debut for Wanderers in a 3-0 win at Morecambe in March 2011 and also featured in the 2-0 success over Stockport a week later. He was named in the first-team squad several times last season. "I'm over the moon. To get another year at a great club like this is a dream come true," Scowen told the club's official website. "It was a very easy decision to make. Wycombe is a great club and the gaffer is a very good manager. "Next season is big for me. I want to get more minutes and games under my belt." Boss Gary Waddock added: "It's fantastic news that three good young players have committed themselves to the club. They've all got potential and played in the first team, now the challenge for them is to continue producing for this football club and develop into first-team regulars."
