Hartlepool manager Neale Cooper has completed his first summer signing with the capture of former Middlesbrough winger Jonathan Franks.

Franks, 22, who spent the last three months of the season on loan at Yeovil, has signed a permanent deal at Victoria Park following his recent release by Boro. The former England youth international made a total of 28 appearances for Middlesbrough, scoring three goals, since making his debut in the final game of the 2008/09 season. Franks scored three goals in 14 appearances for the Glovers, where he caught the eye of several other clubs, but Cooper wasted little time in making his move after learning the midfielder was available.
