Wigan defender hoping for move

Wigan Athletic defender Ronnie Stam is hoping he will be allowed to move back to Holland this summer. The 27-year-old was a regular in the Wigan side before February, but he has played just once since then. Stam feels this is because he is due a rise in wages if he plays two more games. The defender revealed that PSV Eindhoven tried to sign him last summer and he hopes they will rekindle their interest. Stam told Voetbal International: "Last summer PSV tried to sign me on loan. They don't do that if I don't want to go. "At that time Wigan didn't cooperate, [which is] too bad. But I still think the same about it. "PSV is a beautiful club, but there are more great clubs. But it would be a great solution for my situation at Wigan." Stam revealed that there is a contractual issue with him at the DW Stadium. "I played almost every match until February," he continued. "I'm two matches away from a contracted salary increase. I think they regret that over here [Wigan], because I'm not playing anymore."
