On-loan keeper keen to stay at the Den

Maik Taylor would consider extending his stay with Millwall after helping secure their place in the Championship for next season. The Northern Ireland international moved to the Den on loan in March, having not played for parent club Leeds since joining them late in 2011. Lions manager Kenny Jackett brought in the experienced 40-year-old as cover for the injured Steve Mildenhall, but the former Birmingham City and Fulham keeper has gone on to make seven appearances so far. The most recent came in the 2-1 win over Leicester that ensured Millwall's Championship status for a third consecutive season, and Taylor says he would like the chance to remain with the club. "If staying is an option for me, then I will speak with the manager and see what is open for me," he stated. "I'm just grateful for the opportunity and if it goes beyond the season, then it's fantastic. "I thought I was coming in to put some pressure on the other keeper and the manager has given me an opportunity. Things have gone well, so hopefully that will continue."
