Devils recall duo from Daggers

John Akinde and Charlie Wassmer have seen their loan spells at Dagenham cut short after they were recalled by Crawley Town.

The duo joined the Daggers last month on deals until the end of the season but Town have opted to utilise the pair as they strive for promotion from League Two, with a clause preventing a recall in the first 28 days of the agreement having now passed. It comes just days after Craig Brewster was appointed as caretaker-manager of Crawley following Steve Evans' sudden switch to Rotherham. Dagenham have been unbeaten since the pair arrived at Victoria Road, contributing to their rise to 19th in the table where they are all but mathematically safe from relegation. Striker Akinde made five appearances, failing to find the net, while defender Wassmer stepped off the bench once.
