Hurst spurs Saddlers survival

Walsall midfielder Kevan Hurst is confident that the Saddlers can survive relegation this season.

The Midlands outfit squandered a two-goal lead and needed a stoppage-time equaliser to draw 3-3 with fellow strugglers Rochdale at the weekend, Walsall are just two points above the drop zone, but Hurst believes the club will remain in League One next season. He told the club's website: "It was really disappointing as we felt we'd dropped two points, but we refused to let our heads drop and never gave up. "What will stand us in good stead is that we have been creating plenty of chances in the last 10 games. "If we can match the defensive qualities that we have displayed for the majority of the season with this, we will be okay."
