Magpies trio available for loan

Notts County have made Sam Sodje, Jude Stirling and John Spicer available for loan deals.

After five matches at the helm, manager Keith Curle has had chance to assess the squad he inherited and he feels he has adequate cover in defence to allow Sodje and Stirling to leave Meadow Lane. Curle also feels that midfielder Spicer would benefit from the chance of regular first-team football elsewhere. Stirling and Spicer have featured only sparingly for County this season, while Sodje has been in and out of the team throughout the campaign with his last appearance coming in the 1-0 win at Rochdale last month. Curle, who hinted that he was looking to add to the squad, said: "It is going to be an opportunity for them to get some game time between now and the end of the season. They will be able to showcase their abilities to hopefully earn a contract either here or somewhere else. "It is a large squad, probably top-heavy, and it is important that some of the players that are not getting match practice get some game time."
