Young striker believes he should be in Dons' team

Algerian striker Mohamed Chalali has expressed his unhappiness at a lack of playing time at Pittodrie. The 22-year-old has been a bit-part player for the Dons of late with his last start under manager Craig Brown coming in the middle of January. Chalali was an unused substitute in last weekend's 1-1 draw with leaders Celtic and was unconvinced after hearing Brown's explanation. The Dons boss stated Chalali would be on the bench following a long trip after being called up by Algeria for the first time. However, he believes he is not playing due to non-football reasons, although Chalali will stay professional for the rest of the campaign.

Unsatisfied

"The situation does not satisfy me," explained Chalali. "I feel there are things happening behind my back and I do not like it. "I don't know what's happened. The manager told me before the match against Celtic that I would be on the bench because of the long journey I had with Algeria. I wasn't convinced by that explanation. "I know I belong in the Aberdeen team and it is for reasons outside of football that I have not been playing. "My contract is ending and I think that maybe I don't play because of this reason. "The manager doesn't see fit to play me because he thinks I'll be away next season. "I try to stay calm and I will train as hard as possible to show the manager that I really want to play. "I'll be professional until the end of the season and then we'll see what happens."
