Rovers loan Tiryaki to Cambridge

Tranmere striker Mustafa Tiryaki has joined Blue Square Bet Premier outfit Cambridge United on a one-month loan deal.

The 24-year-old has four goals to his name in 33 appearances since joining Rovers from Havant and Waterlooville in the summer. Manager Les Parry outlined Enoch Showunmi's return to fitness from a leg injury and Ryan Brunt's extended loan from Stoke as the reasons behind Tiryaki's move. "This is a good chance for Mustafa to play some games," said Parry. "With Enoch Showunmi coming back into the squad and Stoke allowing us to extend Ryan Brunt's loan, Mustafa's chances would have been limited here. "Hopefully he will come back to us in a month's time and will compete for a starting role in our first team." During the January transfer window Tiryaki was the subject of a surprise bid from Turkish giants Trabzonspor.
