Dutch giants beat Prem clubs to Danish ace

PSV Eindhoven have announced a pre-contract agreement to sign FC Copenhagen defender Mathias Jorgensen. As revealed by Sky Sports last month, PSV were close to winning the race for the highly-rated central defender and now the Dutch giants have confirmed the deal. Sky Sports understands PSV beat off interest from the likes of Newcastle, Everton and West Brom to the signature of Jorgensen. Jorgensen has established himself as one of the best young prospects in Europe after impressing for club and country over the last few seasons. The 21-year-old will arrive at PSV on a free transfer in the summer after seeing out his contract at FC Copenhagen. Jorgensen has agreed a four-year deal at PSV as he becomes their first signing ahead of next season. "It's very nice to be on this stage with a lot of history and know that I'm finally going to be a part of it this summer," Jorgensen told PSV's official website. "I am very happy about it. "I have recovered from my knee injury. I hope to make my comeback shortly and be fully fit again in summer."
