Iron boss hints at Bopp deal

Scunthorpe manager Alan Knill could hand German midfielder Eugen Bopp a route back into English football.

Bopp, 28, has had a recent spell back in Germany with Carl Jeiss Jena, but is currently training with the Iron and Knill, his former manager at Rotherham, is still a big admirer. "I had a fantastic midfield there [at Rotherham] with Lee Williamson and Stephen Quinn, and Boppy fitted in really well. He's really talented and powerful with great feet," Knill told the club's official website. Knill added: "He had been playing in the German first division and something had gone wrong. I think they weren't paying him or something. So there he is without a club and he wants to come back to England. "On top of that his wife is from Nottingham and they're staying there for now. In that way it works him being here with us. "I've told him that if it all goes ok we'll sit down and there may be something for him. But for now we'll have to wait and see what's best for the player and us."
