South Korea international Ja-Cheol Koo will see out the season with Augsburg after joining the club on loan from Wolfsburg.
The deal includes no option for a permanent move to be made in the summer, meaning Koo will return to his parent club at the end of the campaign.
Augsburg are, however, delighted to have secured his services for the foreseeable future and hope he can help them to steer a course to Bundesliga safety.
"We are extremely happy to have been able to land Je-Cheol Koo on loan for the rest of the season," general manager Andreas Rettig told the club's official website.
"We had been looking to sign him for some time and are delighted that things have gone our way in the end.
"We would like to thank Wolfsburg for the agreement I would like to thank Felix Magath for working on the deal."
