Former Liverpool & Hibs man set for NY Red Bulls

Sky Sports understands former Liverpool and Hibernian man Victor Palsson is poised to join New York Red Bulls. Palsson is looking for a new club after cancelling his contract at Hibernian earlier this month. The 20-year-old, who joined Hibs from Liverpool in January 2011, was out of contract at Easter Road at the end of the season and both parties decided to part company earlier. The Icelandic Under 21 international joined Liverpool in 2009, but failed to break into the club's first team during his time at Anfield. New York Red Bulls are now ready to offer the defensive midfielder the chance to try his luck in Major League Soccer. Talks are thought to be at an advanced stage and Palsson is close to agreeing a deal to join Thierry Henry at Red Bulls.
