Oldham manager Paul Dickov was frustrated to only pick up a point after a goalless draw with Exeter.
Both goalkeepers - Exeter's Artur Krysiak and Oldham's Alex Cisak - were in impressive form in a stalemate featuring several goalscoring chances.
Cisak pulled off a superb double save in the first six minutes, denying Richard Duffy and Richard Logan. Jake Taylor and substitute Daniel Nardiello were also thwarted by the big Australian.
"We were unlucky not to win," said Dickov.
"The ball wouldn't really run for us, but if we had got the ricochet we needed we would have won comfortably.
"We had a lot of chances and nobody could question our application or desire."
