Cumbrians claim Noble prize

Midfielder Liam Noble has joined Carlisle on a permanent basis from Sunderland following a loan spell last season.

The 21-year-old enjoyed a successful loan spell at Brunton Park at the start of the season, scoring five goals in 26 appearances. Noble, who also spent time with the Cumbrians last season, returned to parent club the Black Cats and missed the 4-1 victory over Leyton Orient last time out. However, he has now signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Carlisle, much to the delight of manager Greg Abbott. "We're delighted that we've got him here because we obviously know all about him," Abbott told the club's official website. "He's a character in his own right and he has been superb to have around. "He's got a lot to learn, but he has progressed while we've had him this last year and we think there is more of that to come."
