Rams midfielder enjoyed loan spell at Ashton Gate

Derby County midfielder Stephen Pearson is hoping to agree a deal to stay at Bristol City following the end of his loan spell at Ashton Gate. Pearson scored twice in nine Championship appearances for the Robins after linking up with Derek McInnes' side in November. Rams boss Nigel Clough recently admitted that talks are continuing for Pearson to leave Pride Park on a permanent basis. The 29-year-old has enjoyed his time with the Robins and concedes it is the right time for him to move on from Derby in search of a new challenge. "I'm just working as hard as I can," Pearson told Bristol City's official website. "I'm really enjoying my time here at Bristol City, so hopefully we can sort something out. "I've been at Derby for four or five years and get on well with Nigel Clough, but sometimes a change is probably for the best."
