Hoffenheim land Liechtenstein youngster

Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim have signed Sandro Wieser from Swiss champions Basle on a four-and-a-half-year contract. The 18-year-old joins the Rhein-Neckar-Arena club for an undisclosed fee and he is expected to join up with his team-mates once the transfer window officially opens on January 1st. The Liechtenstein international is seen as a promising star, although he failed to hold down a regular first-team spot at Basle after making the step up from their B team earlier this season. But Hoffenheim general manager Ernst Tanner told the club's official website: "We are delighted that we have been able to sign a German-speaking, top prospect on a long-term deal. "In spite of his young age, Sandro has already proven, particularly with the Liechtenstein senior national team, what he is capable of. "He will find the ideal surroundings with us to take the next step and we are convinced of his qualities."
