Amsif and Sankoh agree new contracts

Augsburg captain Uwe Mohrle has confirmed he is to join Bundesliga 2 side Energie Cottbus in January. The 32-year-old will make the move for an undisclosed fee after agreeing a deal with Cottbus until June 2014. Mohrle had six months remaining on his Augsburg contract and had helped the club earn promotion to the Bundesliga last season. But he has decided to make a difficult choice and move on, as he told Deutsche Presseagentur: "This decision was a tough one for me and my family as we feel very good being at Augsburg. "I would have continued to help the club to achieve Bundesliga safety also in the second part of the current season. "(But) anyway, due to the restricted amount of time in the professional game as a footballer, I have in the end decided in favour of the long term." Augsburg last week agreed new contracts with goalkeeper Mohamed Amsif and defender Gibril Sankoh.
