Jon Macken believes Walsall's squad possesses enough quality to avoid another relegation battle this season.
The Saddlers, who are winless in their last five outings, are currently a point above the relegation zone having won just three of their 17 league fixtures to date. Walsall only confirmed their League One status for this season on the final day of last year's campaign, but Macken is confident they will be well clear of danger this time around. "I was in it last season, which wasn't nice," he told the Express & Star. "But we don't want to be in the same situation in April and May - we aim to be a lot further up the table. "We know we've got enough quality in the team and the squad to push on to win games. I believe we can do it."
