Matt wants more from Gills

Veteran Matt Lawrence does not think Gillingham's position in the League Two table reflects the strength of their squad.

The Gills are currently ninth in League Two and only one point off the play-off places but defender Lawrence, who has taken the captain's armband with Andy Frampton injured, insists they should be higher up the table. "With the strength of our squad - the manager and his assistant know we should be further up the league. We all know," he told BBC Radio Kent. "We just need to be hard to beat. I don't think we're hard enough to beat at the moment. "I'm not saying we're not performing as we should. I'm saying we're not getting the results that we should. "It's hard to put a finger on it - but it's not for me to say really."
