Feyenoord have suffered a major blow with the news that Kaj Ramsteijn is likely to be out of action for the next six months.
The versatile defender was involved in a collision during the club's recent top-of-the-table Eredivise clash against AZ Alkmaar last weekend.
The 21-year-old suffered medial and cruciate ligament damage and head coach Ronald Koeman expects to be without the starlet for some time.
Ramsteijn had made an impressive start to the campaign for the Rotterdam club after spending last season on loan at feeder club Excelsior.
The highly-rated player took his opportunity at De Kuip due to a number of injuries at left-back.
And it looked as though he would cement his spot in the first-team until his collision with AZ winger Roy Beerens in his side's 2-1 defeat which sent Gertjan Verbeek's side top.
