Defender and midfielder set to miss crucial Bundesliga games

Hoffenheim have suffered a double injury blow after losing defender Matthias Jaissle and midfielder Fabian Johnson. Both players are expected to miss next month's crucial Bundesliga clash against Bayern Munich. Johnson, who made the move to Hoffenheim from Wolfsburg in the summer, will be out after suffering a slipped disc in his neck. The 23-year-old has been a mainstay of the first team this season and has helped them reach fourth place in the division. Jaissle has suffered a heel injury after recently returning from a frustrating spell out through injury. The former German Under 21 defender was out with a knee injury in the 2008/09 season and has made just 13 appearances since. He will have surgery to correct the latest problem and he admitted that it was disappointing news to receive. Jaissle told the club's website: "Surgery has been looming for me in recent weeks; therefore I had the chance to get myself prepared for this. "Still it is definitely tragic news for me, of course."
