Winger ruled out for up to eight weeks with ligament damage

Kilmarnock have been dealt a big blow with the news that winger David Silva has been ruled out for up to two months. The Portuguese ace suffered medial ligament damage during Sunday's 4-1 win over Hibernian and had to be replaced with 18 minutes remaining at Rugby Park. Tests have now confirmed the extent of the damage and the 24-year-old will be out for at least six weeks, possibly eight. Kilmarnock boss Kenny Shiels told the Daily Record: "David will be out for six weeks, maybe eight.

Causes problem

"It causes a problem for us because he and James Dayton had been doing well out wide for us." On a more positive note, reports say the club are close to agreeing a deal for left-sided winger Leon Panikvar. The Slovenian is closing on a two-year deal but is unlikely to face Hearts on Sunday.
