Gers boss pressing ahead with deals for new faces

Rangers manager Ally McCoist is hoping to confirm a number of new signings in the coming days. Gers snapped up Lee Wallace from Hearts on Thursday while the club also agreed a pre-contract with Alejandro Bedoya. However, Rangers are not resting on their laurels and McCoist is hoping to press ahead with deals for another four players. Rangers' new manager has confirmed that Romanian international Dorian Goian, Anderlecht's Rolan Juhasz and Rabiu Afolabi of Salzburg are all on his radar. "We have been very, very busy as you can imagine," commented McCoist. "Certainly the squad is needing strengthening.

Targets

"I've been pursuing three or four targets so hopefully we will be up to speed on them in the next 24 to 48 hours. "I've been very busy in that department. We still need a bit of a helping hand but I don't think it will happen between now and kick off (on Saturday)." On Goian, he said: "He's a player we are interested in, definitely. We've had him watched and we would certainly be keen to take it further. "Juhasz is another player. There is nothing definite but they are players we have looked at. "We will be pursuing three or four over the next few days and these two might or might not be two of them." When asked about Afolabi, McCoist added: "He is another player we have looked at."
