Jackson eyes keeper cover

Bradford boss Peter Jackson will try sign a new keeper despite registering goalkeeping coach Tim Dittmer as a player.

Dittmer, 26, has been named on the bench for all three of the pre-season friendlies after Jon McLaughlin was struck down with food poisoning but will only be used in case of emergencies. "Tim has signed a playing contract just in case of an emergency," Jackson told the club's official website. "Obviously, he is our goalkeeping coach first and foremost but we felt it might be sensible to cover ourselves in the event of something happening. "Tim travels with us on away matches so he will be in position to sit on the bench should one of the lads fall down ill, for example. "We have seen this week that it can happen with Jon [McLaughlin] so we felt it best to cover ourselves. We are still looking at keepers, however, and Mark Howard or Iain Turner will play at [Bradford] Park Avenue."
