Cagliari lose out in bid to re-sign Genoa striker
Bologna have confirmed the loan signing of striker Robert Acquafresca.
The 23-year-old has agreed to join the club on a one-year deal from fellow Serie A side Genoa.
Bologna have beaten off competition from Cagliari, who were hoping to re-sign Acquafresca after he scored three goals in 14 games on loan with them last season.
The former Torino trainee, who has represented Italy up to Under-23 level, is expected to join up with his new team-mates on Wednesday.
Acquafresca was snapped up by Inter Milan in 2005 before being loaned out to Treviso and Cagliari.
After failing to make a first-team appearance for the Nerazzurri he made a permanent move to Genoa in 2009 and has spent the last two seasons on loan with Atalanta and Cagliari.
