Waide Fairhurst has completed a switch from Doncaster to Macclesfield for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old striker has penned a two-year deal at the Moss Rose and is set to feature in the League Two club's pre-season friendly against Derby on Tuesday night. Fairhurst rose through the ranks at the Keepmoat Stadium but has only made a total of 13 mostly substitute appearances, scoring two goals, since making his first-team debut towards the end of the 2008/09 campaign. It is on loan where he has enjoyed more frequent success, scoring four goals in 10 games for Shrewsbury in 2009/10 before stints at both Southend and Hereford last term, registering three goals in 16 appearances for the latter. Fairhurst still had 12 months remaining on his Rovers contract.
