AZ Alkmaar have confirmed that Hector Moreno has moved to Espanyol on a five-year deal.
The Mexican defender joined the club from Pumas in January 2008, making 80 appearances and scoring six goals, winning the Eredivisie title in 2009.
Moreno was a key figure for the Dutch side in their success under former coach Louis Van Gaal, as well as playing a role for the national team at the World Cup last year.
Moreno was under contract until 2014, but Espanyol have secured the player after agreeing a fee.
AZ refused to confirm the fee on their official website, although reports in the Dutch media state that it could stand at around three to four million euros.
