Danish midfielder still seeking NEC exit this summer

Feyenoord are yet to make a move for NEC Nijmegen midfielder Lasse Schone, according to his agent. The Denmark international has a year remaining on his NEC contract, but has been heavily linked with a move away from the club this summer. Feyenoord director Martin van Geel has previously expressed his interest in Schone, whose reported price tag of €1million is likely to appeal to the cash-strapped club. But any swoop for the 25-year-old could depend on whether midfielders Leroy Fer and Georginio Wijnaldum leave the Rotterdam side. Schone's agent, Rob Groener, says NEC are yet to hear from the Eredivisie giants, but has reiterated the player is open to a move away from Nijmegen. "There is increasing interest in Lasse," Groener told Voetbal Primeur. "But we have heard nothing from Feyenoord as yet. "It all depends on the plans and opportunities for Feyenoord in the coming years. "Of course, he has previously worked with (Feyenoord coach) Mario Been, who knows him well. "In general, it is true that Lasse is open to a departure from Nijmegen this summer, but whether Feyenoord is an option is still unclear."
