Turkish international opts to join German rivals
Hertha Berlin have signed striker Tunay Torun on a free transfer from Hamburg on a three-year deal.
Hertha have moved swiftly to try and bolster their squad having secured their promotion back to the top-flight just three days ago.
Torun's contract with Hamburg expires in June but he has been a bit-part player for most of the season, having made just five appearances.
Spurned
Hamburg had tried to keep the Turkey international but he spurned their offer of a new contract to join their new Bundesliga rivals.
He told Hertha's official website: "I received an offer from Hamburg to remain at the Imtech-Arena.
"It was an honour to receive a new offer from them but I am keen to continue my career with a young and ambitious team.
"I am still able to learn and I feel that Hertha Berlin is a terrific club to do so at."
