Stopper to make Enschede move in the summer

Defender Tim Cornelisse will join FC Twente from FC Utrecht on a free transfer at the end of the season. The 32-year-old, who is out of contract at Utrecht in the summer, has agreed a two-year deal with the reigning Eredivisie champions. Right-back Cornelisse, a former Vitesse player, arrived at Utrecht in 2004 and has scored 11 goals in 178 league appearances for the club. Twente are currently second in the table, six places clear of Utrecht, and the defender says the switch was too good to turn down. He told Uefa's official website: "When an offer from a team like Twente comes along, you do not need to think too long about it." Tukkers' coach Michel Preud'homme feels Cornelisse will be a valuable addition to the Twente squad. He said: "Tim is a reliable defender with attacking skills - a player who will fit in perfectly at Twente."
