Burton Albion have boosted their attacking options as they look to pull away from the relegation battle by signing forward Simon Whaley until the end of the season.
The League Two side have taken the former Preston and Norwich man after a short trial and he goes straight into contention for Saturday's encounter at Crewe.
Manager Paul Peschisolido has been looking for reinforcements and sees Whaley's experience as being vital to help his young and threadbare squad.
The 25-year-old had spells on loan at Bradford, Chesterfield and Rochdale from Norwich last season but following a knee injury found himself without a club.
